What is a Digital Certificate - SSL?

With the increase in the use of the Internet for commercial purposes, it has become essential to create ways for two people to communicate over the network in total security. Among the various existing security protocols, there is a very important one that deserves our attention.

This is SSL (Secure Socket Layer). It allows client/server applications to exchange information in total security, protecting the integrity and veracity of the content that travels over the Internet. This security is only possible through the authentication of the parties involved in the exchange of information.

HTTPS is the implementation of SSL over HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol), the protocol that actually makes the internet work, creating the term HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure. It is easily found in the address bar of email providers and online banks. If it isn't there, any data sent or received is vulnerable to interception and is one of the biggest causes of internet crime. When an online banking address or any account page on the Internet doesn't display the little S at the beginning of its address, make sure you haven't been scammed by a third-party website.
